Oma passed away

Today was the end of an era.  My sweet grandmother, affectionately known as Oma passed away this morning.  This woman is made of pure grit.  We thought we had lost her last January and all flew out to see her...and she made it until early this morning.
She grew up in Germany and saw many things.  She served a mission, took tithing money across the borders, married, had children, moved to the United States and THEN got her nursing degree. She was brave.  Stalwart.  Courageous.
She lived in a time of such tumult and unknown and yet she left a legacy for all of those that came after her.  I used to love visiting and listening to her speak in her heavily thick German accent.  She made the best food and it was fun to be at her home.
I remember her driving me to Savers one day, during a summer visit, and buying me a shirt.  Small little things like that showed who she was.

We've moved!

We made the 13 hour trek to Idaho a week ago.  It was a long trek, but it was great seeing the Lord's hand in our packing, moving and journey.

The rental is .....  a rental.  There are a few concerns, but not much the owners are willing to fix, since they plan on making it into a night watchman's house.

We checked mormon.org for our ward time and showed up at 2.  Church had just gotten over.  Someone needs to update the website.  :(

The kids started school on Wednesday and they loved it.  Livi had a bit of a rough start with her Language Arts teacher, but the boys couldn't stop talking about how wonderful life was.  Thursday was better for Livi.
The house is slowly coming together.  So.many.boxes.

Fort Collins Temple Open House

It's August.  It was rainy and cold FREEZING!!  This was one of the most beautiful temples I have ever seen.  The inside is full of rose gold fixtures.  The brides' room is amazing and gorgeous.  I am so glad that we were able to go with our family.

August-Rosie, half-flies and sunsets

More beautiful sunsets:

The next few pictures are super random.  There was a fly buzzing around and Luke took a few swings at it...and ended up cutting it in HALF!!!  Mr. Miyagi?!

the rest of July

The rest of July consisted of random things:

Rosie actually opened her mouth at the dentist!

Chick-fil-a appreciation day

My friend (from growing up in Chicago) is an author.  This is her 2nd book and she sent it to us free, when I won it on Facebook.  The kids loved reading it.  She's pretty talented.

Lots of fun at the park:

Hand foot and mouth?  One night Rosie woke up screaming.  She was itching her feet.  We took her out of bed and called our nurse-friend, Angie.  She told us to do Benadryl and to watch the fever.

The next day she was fine, but we continued to watch her and make sure that her airway didn't close up.
