Our Nancy

I'm sure I could never fully express how much we love and appreciate "Our Nancy."  She is/was way more than a great Neighbor.  She was a friend, confidante and a member of the family
She loves our kids so much and definitely spoils them.  She is so good about sending packages for Easter, Christmas, Halloween etc.  This time she sent one because Spencer had helped her with her dad's coin collection.
She sent Buffalo nickels, half dollars, silver dollars and Silver Certificates.

We are so thankful for all the gifts and packages, but would give them up in a heartbeat to LIVE by her again.  Love you Nancy!!

Rosie's fall

The same day Oma passed away, Rosie fell 10 feet from a railing.  I was in the kitchen and the boys were in the living room with her.  The builders and the owners had failed to take the railing all the way to the wall, leaving a 10 inch gap from the wall to the railing.

I had texted the landlord and told her there was a problem and we needed it fixed.  Fast forward almost a month and they never fixed it.  (this would never fly in Denver).
After Rosie fell, I texted her (Rosie was crying too loudly to call and I was too frazzled to talk on the phone) and told her that there was a problem.  She told me to cal Con, her husband.  He never called or texted me back.  Grr...Luke and Brian took matters into their own hands and fixed it themselves.  It's super sturdy and will do the job.

Tari knocked $40 off the rent...lovely.  My daughter could have been seriously hurt, but $40 will make it all better.  Anyway, Tricia S., a nurse, came over and made sure she was doing well.  Took her vitals, checked her eyes, bones, etc.  Thank goodness for good friends and nurses.

After crying for several hours, Rosie would just point to the front of her head and complain about a headache.  She didn't wake up at her normal hour the next day, but when she did wake up, this is the face that greeted us:

Young Women

2 months ago I was called to be the Beehive Advisor in our ward.  (I work with the 12 & 13 yo girls).  It took them a month to sustain me in church and I was never even set apart before they called me in and told me there was going to be a change...a big one.  They were reorganizing the entire Young Women.  They called me back in as the 2nd Counselor over the Beehives.  It's been a whirlwind since.  We have had several committee meetings and they have lasted no less than 3 hours.  (Luke's ready to pull his hair out!  :)

Anyway, a few weeks ago we went roller skating with the stake and decided to dress up as disco queens.

We had a blast!!

The next week, we had glow-in-the dark volleyball.  Oh my word, that was fun!!

I have really enjoyed this new calling.  I have never been in the YW, since I was one, and I have loved the spirit I have felt serving with them.

Wax Museum

Spencer spent the last few weeks working on a project.  Today he had a wax museum.  It was a brilliant idea!  He did such a good job depicting Babe Ruth.
