Italy Part 1: Idaho to Cali to Munich

I knew traveling across the world would get me a little tired but this was quite the adventure. We went from Mountain Standard Time to Pacific time all the way to Munich. After our flight was canceled to Milan we decided to take the train into Munich. I'm so happy we did! We came up out of the train subway and looked up to some of the most beautiful buildings I've ever seen. To be honest I wish we would have stayed in Germany for a few days, but unfortunately our time was limited.  We will be back!

* I'll fix the pictures later.  Need to journal this before I forget too much.

Band Concert

End of the year is rough on parents and families.  There are so many activities going on at once, it can be overwhelming. (Take last week for example:  Mac had 4 nights of baseball and 3 days of soccer, Livi had dance, track and violin + violin performance, Spencer had track and Rosie had soccer, PLUS it was my birthday...It was exhausting).

Amy way, almost daily Spencer asks to quit the trumpet...and every time I say, "No.  Sorry, but band is not an option."  Last night almost made me change my mind...almost. 😂😉

The Beginner Band went first.  The 6th graders did a great job.  It was the hour and half of other bands that made me want to scream and pull my hair out.   Don't get me wrong.  They sounded great, but no one, I repeat NO ONE should have to stay for almost 2 hours (including being there early to practice and set up).

The Pond

Sometimes I get spontaneous.  Usually it's a road trip or something fun and exciting.  Today it was cleaning out the pond.  Ha!

Over the winter, it got pretty mucky and gross.  The last few days, it had started sprouting moss and algae.

I set up a pump and pumped the water out.  Then shop vacced the bottom of leftover water.  We took out all of the rocks in the bottom pond and cleaned them off.  I took a dish washing brush and scrubbed the bigger rocks at the bottom.  I even got into all of the cracks and crevices and determined the pond hadn't been cleaned in years.  Blech!
In all honesty, I love doing work like this.  Shhh, don't tell Luke or my parents.  😉

Violin performance

This past semester, we signed Livi up for violin lessons with a student at ISU.  It was hectic getting her there every week, but the payoff was nice.
This is how I spent my birthday morning...and I LOVED It!
