This past week and end..

Monday:
On Monday Karen asked me to go to Deanna Rose with her and her cute niece, Nora. I didn't really want to go because it had just rained and it was wet. Yet, Karen was all about getting out and being a good auntie! SO..we brought a lunch and went to play! Here are some great pictures from that day:

This past weekend was well..a blast! We had a girls night out on Friday night at Olive Garden and then we went bowling on Saturday night.

Friday night:
Michelle, Shannon, Karen, Jolee and I met up at Olive Garden for a good ole girls night out! We waited for about 20 minutes and just talked. Then we got inside and ...you guessed it...Talked! What a fun time. In fact we talked so much you could tell the waitress and staff were ready to kick us out. I guess being there for 2 - 2 1/2 hours could be the reason. Every time the waitress or an employee walked by the table they kicked my chair! It was pretty funny! The food was great and I really enjoyed spending time with such great friends...thanks!!

Saturday night:
Luke and I got Karen's nieces to babysit our kids and then off we went to the bowling alley. I had some free bowling passes (you had to pay for the shoe rental) so we thought that would be fun. Luke was AMAZING!! He got strike after strike and was seriously on a role. Ed, Karen, and Nate did fabuloso and that leaves Jolee and I! :) Our final scores, mind you I was bowling left handed, was 67/68 and Jolee's was 63/64. Whoa..I know, what hott scores! Whatever..it is hard to be injured and try to bowl left-handed!
Afterwards we went to DQ where Ed decided he didn't want Nate to beat us there and so he ran a red light. This wouldn't be your typical run the red light...it was red, we were sitting there and waiting for all the lights to turn green. The left turn signal changed and Nate went, but we were going straight...so of course, Ed had to run it..and we STILL LOST!!
It was a great time talking inside. I didn't realize how "brainless" i have been when it comes to reading. They read all these classic authors and here I am reading murder mystery novels. Oh well, better luck next time!
All in all, one great weekend!

Tagged!

Well darn it all...I thought I was going to get away from not being tagged, but good ole Dev just had to do it!! Ok, I basically suck at these things..go figure!

6 crazy things about me:

1. I read fictional books. It doesn't matter what it is about, I am obsessed with reading (have you seen the list?) I read British-humor, Murder Mystery, Suspensful novels, Harry Potter, etc. i love reading. But on the other hand, I have a hard time with non-fiction and historical fiction and that is why I am turning over a new leaf. I noticed after going out with some great friends this weekend that I don't really read very "smart" books or great authors. They were all talking about Bronte, Dickins, Dickinson, Austen (I HAVE read Pride & Prejudice this last year and LOVED IT!) and a bunch of other classic authors. I just don't have it in me to read these types of books, but for every 2 novels/action/murder/mystery, I'll read one great novel.

2. I LOVE SLEEPING!! I have always been a sleeper: In high school I took a nap every single day and sometimes I would sleep until it was time to go to bed and then wake up have my sister get my toothbrush and a cup (yes, so I could spit the toothpaste into..YUCK, I KNOW!!) and go back to bed. I would wake up the next day and go to seminary, school, work and nap. My mom was beside herself and thought I was lazy, my dad thought I was dying or had mono or something...but it was a very stressful year (especially Junior year) Anyway, I have mostly gotten better over the years but the last 2 months I have gone back to being tired and well a little lazy even. I have been on some new medicine and it has been a really big pain. I guess I am just going to have to tell my doctor that this is not working out and try something else.

3. I LOVE FALL! I mean, I really love fall time. (Spring is a close 2nd) To me fall is about going back to school, cooler dryer weather, FOOTBALL GAMES (GO BEARS, BRONCOS, and Colts :) leaves turning and changing, the awesome smell of cooler air, sweaters and EVERYTHING! It is such a great time of year.

4. Crafts and similar other things: I really enjoy doing crafts including blankets, bedding, cross-stitch, painting things for the kids room, glass blocks, wreaths, anything. Only problem: I'm not really Martha Stewart! I mean, I am pretty good at things, if I can see the finished product OR someone is there to specifically help guide me. (Ie. Devony and Iris with Livi's bedding, Iris/Laurie/Jenn with the wreath, wall hanging: Marin and Kim) Ok, it's just not something that is my forte, BUT I am working on it...That's what matters, right? (BTW, the bedding took me almost 2 years to complete!!!!!! Luke about KILLED me, but for my defense I had a Brand new baby!

5. I have something known as impulse buying (on very small things) and then buyer's remorse on everything. it doesn't matter what it is (candy bar, clothes, cars, etc) I have a hard time after buying it. I just think after that the money could've been better, well, saved. Oh well, when we are millionaires it should get better, right? :)

6. This next and final one goes back to #2 in a round about way. I love spending time with the family and going out with them to shop, eat out, etc. but I have a very hard time getting off the couch to go on a walk or to do something physical. I don't know what is wrong with me lately. I think that when we get a home with a backyard it will get better, but who knows...anyone have any suggestions on how to actually WANT to do things outdoors? Luke says we just need to spend more time and then the love for the outdoors with grown on us. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy camping, fishing, taking pictures outdoors, I just don't always ENJOY it. So let the suggestions start!

All finished: I would like to tag Becca, Ashleigh, Sarah E., Shannon, Michelle, Stevie Kay, and Kiera..good luck!

Superstition

So many of you are probably waiting for an actual blog update...but I am both too tired and lazy to do it right now, so here is another book I just read: Supersition by Karen Robards. LOVED IT! It was seriously a suspenseful read...not always the best as far as "clean" scenes or language, but skipping those parts wasn't too hard.

ANYWAY, I will be updating VERY SOON..I promise!

2 more books read...

So, I guess that I have read too much lately because I haven't wanted to read! How horrible is that?!?! So, I got a book from the library, Swapping Lives by Jane Green and it took me a week to even open the 1st page..then it took me another 4 days to read the first 4 chapters..but I finished it on Tuesday night and it was pretty good. Today I finished the book, Step on a Crack by James Patterson (yes, 1 1/4 days later). He is SUCH a great author..I LOVE HIM!
Ok, so some other books I tried to read all at once, but didn't quite make it: A Bob Greene book, a Peter Walsch (from TLC's Clean Sweep), the Swapping Lives book and another one..hilariously enough..I didn't get through any of them BUT the Jane Green book. Enough! I am just going to take one project on at a time! Especially since I am finishing a quilting project, throwing 2 baby showers, and starting a little entrepreneur-type business. Wish me luck because my husband is working crazy, long hours (end of the fiscal year for the gov't) for the next 14 days..Ughh, we need a vacation!!
P.S. I hope that Chad, Kristin & Girls are having a wonderful time at DISNEYWORLD! I will admit that I am a tad bit jealous!
