Zion’s Camp

July 19th-22nd
This was a wonderful location for a family reunion.  We had a HUGE lodge
washington 419 (seriously huge) and
4 bunkhouses for each family with children

(about 32 bunk beds each), plus a cabin (for mom and dad)
We had our own Mosiah’s Meadow and the kids loved going over there with Grandpa to swing on the swings and have a great time.

Part II

July 19th:  We drove through some ugly parts, learned to blow bubbles

and reached Snoqualmie around 12 noon.
Everyone met at Burger King for lunch and it was a great reunion for all!  Some of us hadn’t seen each other in 5 years…and several of the cousins had never met.  It was fun!

Then we went over to Snoqualmie Falls.  Gorgeous!

After some car seat swapping, we were on our way to Zion’s Camp.

It’s time…

to post!  It has been so long and I have had a few people get on me for NOT posting in so long.   Our vacation was wonderful and long and full of so many things!   Here is part 1:

July 17th: Ohio to St. Louis to Denver to SLC to Idaho

Bought the kids matching Adidas outfits.  They were adorable in them!

It took us almost 12 hours to GET to Salt Lake. We left the house a 12noon.  We had a 4 hour layover in St. Louis, but the kids were amazing!!  Seriously.  We bought them backpacks and STUFFED them with lots of fun things (food included!  :)

When we arrived, we took a shuttle UP to Rigby.  We arrived at 2 a.m. Idaho time (4 a.m. Ohio time).  Again, the kids were amazing and slept on the way up

.

July 18th:  Idaho to Oregon

We had a few hours to visit with Grandma and Grandpa K.  before leaving for our next destination.  We had never been to their new home before and we had never met their puppy, Charlie.

Their home is GORGEOUS, but I wouldn’t have expected anything less.  They always do a great job decorating.

After our short visit, we left for our next destination:  Pendleton, OR.  We stayed the night there and left bright and early the next day.  We did have a short visit to Boise.  Neither Luke nor I have ever been there before (Yes, Luke grew up in Idaho…) Anyway, we were driving on the freeway and the kids were getting restless.

I thought that it would be a good idea to stop off at a park and let them run around.  Using our new GPS, I punched in what I wanted and rerouted us…unbeknownst to Luke.  I had thought that I had mentioned the park, but he didn’t hear me.  Well,  the GPS rerouted us BACK to Boise…about 5 miles and as we were going, you could hear Luke say, “This is a weird way to get to Oregon.”  After we got off the freeway IN Boise and started into a neighborhood, he started freaking out a bit more..”This is REALLY strange!  Why would they have us go this way?!?  Is the GPS busted?”  Yes, I may have gotten an earful when I explained to him what I had done.  We got out of the car in a bit of a ghetto neighborhood and it was 97*.  It was BLASTED hot!  We lasted about 5 minutes.  On to Oregon….

When we arrived, I may have reserved the hotel room for the wrong week.  Maybe.  Luckily, they weren’t busy and we were able to get the same rate…thank goodness!

Part 2 to come.

The tooth!

Before I start our vacation posts...I wanted to make sure we mentioned Livi's teeth! Happy teeth loss livi!! You are growing up TOO FAST!
