February 2016

This will be a mishmash of pictures, with a small amount of explanation.
This month we had the Blue & Gold and a hike with the Bears.

She was so tired one day, that she didn't even make it into the house.  She just found herself a nice soft (sled) so sleep on.

Most afternoons.  She went through a period of a few weeks where she didn't want to take a nap.  I had to persuade her by holding her on my chest and rocking her to sleep.

We let the boys' have a trial at TKD, but it was so expensive ($400/month for them)

I seriously love these boys!

Apparently Rosie has taken after my love of all things butter.  Here she is dipping her graham cracker into butter.

Our library installed this adorable grocery/kitchen area.  Even Livi got in on the action.

Oma

Over the past few weeks, Lindsey, has been posting updates on Oma.  It was hard to see how quickly she had declined over the past few months.

Last week, I believe on the 27th, I woke up to a loud voice saying, "OMA!"  I am not sure who it was, but I know it got me in gear.  I talked to Luke about me going out to see her and then I emailed my mom.  After was all said and done, we met up this past weekend.

I flew in late Friday night, late, and stayed at the Radisson.

Saturday morning text to the family
Mom, Dad, Kiera and Ben and Case flew in the next afternoon and we met at the airport.  We went right over to Oma's.  It was so good to see her.  I could see her recognize us and then fade a bit.  There was some confusion on her part and we kept bringing her back.  My mom reminded her who she was and then she was able to converse with us.

We stayed in Heber with Kiera...and our cars got stuck in the snow.  Kiera and I spent a VERY LONG time pushing my dad's car out.  Looking back, it was so fun.  HA!

Sunday:  Mom, Dad and I were able to attend church in Clearfield.  I really believe that Heavenly Father pushed this weekend, in part, for this very reason.  He wanted my dad to be at their old ward building to meet up with all of the past Bishops.  Afterwards, we went over to the Gardners and had a bite to eat.

We visited with Oma later and she seemed much better.  She seemed much more lucid and was able to tell us a few stories of when she was in Germany.   We recorded it for Family Memories.  We hung a bunch of her pictures on the way and then went over to Chris' for Sunday dinner.  So fun to see family.

Monday:  We got tickets to see the Provo temple. It was beautiful and a great experience to have us all together.  We headed over to the BYU Creamery and got an ice cream afterwards.

We stopped at Oma's before my flight and she wouldn't wake up.  We waited about 20 minutes and tried again.  I let her know that I was leaving and she teared up.  Thankfully Kiera and Josh and the boys walked in and she perked up.  It was great to see how happy they made her.  She loves her grands and greats.
