On the News...

Well, it was a fun day today! Kiera gave us the heads up about Ben & Jerry's Free cone day, so we headed over to our local shop.
We got in line and sat down to eat it, when a bunch of news crews came in and started filming. Apparantly, Will Shields, a Chiefs Football player was one of the guys scooping ice cream for us. One of the news crews filmed livi and she was on the 5 o'clock news! IT was sooo cute!
So, thank you Kiera for the heads up!

Preschool

Well, Livi starts preschool in the fall--5 days a week!! She is in an elementary school program where they incorporate disable children with peer models. So, Livi will be in class (6 with disabilities, 6 as peer models) with children ranging from speech problem to down syndrome. It's run very similar to a kindergarten class; spanish time, art, music, gym, etc. It will be a good experience for her.
We went today to observe and she jumped right in and started painting, playing with the dolls, and the rice center. She had such a great time, I just want to know what to do until fall! She wants to be in preschool now. The teacher noticed how ready she was...I agree, Livi has been ready to start school for a LONG time!

Mommy...are you broken?

Livi is quite the cutie...I have been sick the past few days and lost my voice, or at least I sound like a man!
Anyway, I was talking last night and Livi said,
"Mommy, are you broken?" At first, I was really taken aback by what she said. Then I wondered why she would say that, until I figured out that it was my voice. I said, "Yes, my voice is broken. I am sick right now." She went on to say, "Oh, your voice is broken, but mine is beautiful?" Haha, yes Livi, your voice is beautiful!!

THE VISITS!!!

Whahoo!! We have people coming to visit, visit, visit....in the month of May. My parents are coming, possibly with my sister, YAY! And then, YES-- We have not only convinced, but somehow managed to get Luke's parents to travel out here...haha, just kidding! We are so glad that they got great ticket prices...$113 roundtrip! Yahoo!
It is nice that I am such a nerd when it comes to computers...I sign up for everything, including fare watches. Too bad, we can't get the same price to his brother's wedding in August. That's alright, at least we get visitors!

Walking

Yeah, so I forgot to post that Spencer is walking on his own..he is a little lazy, but is still doing it!

Swedish Pancakes

Swedish Pancakes are one of the main traditions passed down from my dad's side of the family. Since I am too nervous..and well, lazy, Luke has taken on the task. We hope to pass it down to our kids (or spouses :) and let the tradition continue on...

Life and I wish it were easier...

So, I have so many blogs and places out there on the net...I thought I would add another!
This past week was interesting...Luke started some more MBA classes. He had one on Wednesday night and the other class was held on Friday (6-10) and Saturday 8:30 to 5p.m.!! Talk about a long class, but no complaints because he only has that class 2 more weekends! It isn't too bad, other than I am a single parent on those nights AND it hit most this past weekend with Livi starting her new ballet/tap class AND it being Conference! Other than that, I think it will be pretty good.
Spencer is growing like a weed and really enjoys standing and walking along furniture. He knows how to walk on his own, but for some reason, he likes the added support. He is climbing up things, including furniture and strollers. He has the cutest expressions and he "hmms" a lot. He loves his sister and boy can she make him laugh!!
Livi is growing up soooo fast! She doesn't seem to stop! She is always on the go and enjoys herself. Sometimes she says things that catch us off guard--she is quite the comedian.
She enjoys singing ( she actually knows quite a few church, pop, country and other genres of music), dancing, reading, watching movies, playing on the computer (she just got really good at playing on the computer by HERSELF!--she knows how to move the mouse!)
Luke is working hard and doing the school thing.
I am the boring one--I just watch the kids and am lazy most of the time. I do do the budgeting/bill paying, cleaning, laundry, kids, dinner, and have somehow still found time to exercise. It is definitely harder to get off the post pregnancy weight with your second one. It has been a hard road and I expect that the future will be just as hard. we are literally weighing our options of staying with the gov't or not. we don't want to be with them forever, but who knows...it may be the best option yet. We have to look to our future and be very sure that we don't need or want anything else. Hmm, decisions...changes. I wish it were easier...right?
