no judgement

i have a pair of gray sweatpants that luke bought me right after I had spencer. it is a tradition that after the baby is born, luke goes and buys a gift for the baby...and one for me. well, let me tell you...sweatpants may not be glorious, but after having a baby, comfy is my #1 goal (and it has been my favorite present thus far!)

fast forward almost 4 years. most days i get up, get dressed (jeans, nice shirt, occassional makeup) and go about my day. unfortunately my jeans are a bit too long and the snow soaks the bottoms (you know how it goes) and I get inside my home and take my shoes off...just to have 15 extra pounds of wet pants. ridiculous. solution? my gray sweatpants.

Like I said above, i could be TOTALLY decked out for the day and the second, literally the second, i get home i take off my wet pants and slip on my old, gray, welcoming sweats. it is like sipping a warm, velvety cup of hot chocolate...oh. so. good.

why the post? because i wore them out of the house last week. it's true. if luke were to find out, he would be somewhat disgusted. not because i wore sweats, but because i wore these sweats. they aren't flattering at all. they are ridiculously ugly and even worse? i wore them with boots...and this leads me to a wonderful quote, "everybody MOVE!" can you name THAT movie? because like the giant, i also have issues with clothing:

P.S. He looks better much better than I do!

milestones

Yes, it has been a few months since a "Mac update" on something other than his sickness(es).

He is SO ADORABLE! Seriously. He is such an easy baby (overheard from some women in the ward) and he is really such a joy to have in our family. Over the last few months he has learned to sit up, crawl, feed himself, fall asleep on his own, gotten teeth, stand up, etc, etc, the list goes on. We love this kid!

Let's rock and roll!

Such a fun picture of the kids: (please note Mac's teeth in this picture) He pulls this face ALL THE TIME!

another mac update

back to the dr. for the 2000th time this winter. slight exaggeration, but i'm getting a bit tired and depressed with all this sickness. i just feel SO bad for the little tyke. no one should have to go through this, especially a baby, especially my baby.

anyway, here's the update:

-his eyes look like they have a bit of conjunctivitis (not a big deal yet)
-his ear infection has NOT gone away (+1 antibiotics)
-his wheezing has not disappeared either (+1 liquid med and +2 nebulizer treatments albuterol and pulmicort)
-worried doctor? yep. referred us to a pulmonologist.
-worried mom? check.

ballet studio

Very soon after we moved in to our home, we painted Livi's room pink. it. is. very. pink. At the risk of it looking redneck, among other things, we kept the color and decided to "add" to it to make it look nice. Our 2nd project in Livi's room:

"Dance Studio"

She LOVES dancing and using the barre.

One project down...200 to go!

P.S. Her room will be finished when we get the beadboard up. It should help break up the "pink" sensation going on in here! ;)

(Pictures to come)

heard around our house

croup. wheezing. coughing. runny nose. grumpy. albuterol. round the clock nebulizer treatments (even in the middle of the night!), 4 different types of prescriptions. it has been a long day in our house. poor little mac. it begins again.

in other news: i went back into physical therapy. i had an AMAZING PT named Tressa. She was awesome and we bonded over our kids, family history stories etc, etc. Then i got a call that the insurance wasn't covering it all and because she worked out of a hospital, it was considered out-patient and therefore the $25 copay for pt was now $75...each. visit. luckily i had cancelled an appt. earlier this week b/c mac was sick. we now have a balance of $125 to pay to the hospital...gotta love insurance/injury/sickness issues.

prognosis? i have 4 out of 5 signs that i have torn cartilage in my shoulder. i also have tendonitis...i go in to see the Dr. again...and if the next 2 pt sessions don't help? cortisone shots, MRI, surgery. did i mention i am done with the whole sickness/injury issues? ;-)

Sickness

Well, we were ALL feeling great for the month of January...so what were we to expect when last week Spencer got a cough...that Livi caught...that Mac caught and then Luke got. Ahh, the joys of winter.
I took Mac to the dr's yesterday because he had the following symptoms: fever, major wheezing, cough, waking up SCREAMING and crying for long stretches. (the last 2 are definitely NOT mac). We couldn't get in to our regular dr., but the dr. said that his cough sounded croupy and we should keep up with the nebulizer. She said to come back in a few days...ok, thanks. He is on anti-biotiocs (prednison...blah, blah, blah), so we'll see how he feels in a few days.

Does anybody else out there think that the side effects of some medication is crazy?! For instance, some of the side effects from THIS medicine are: stomach issues (pain) and hyperactivity or something close to those lines and let me tell you...he has experienced BOTH. It has been insane when he wakes up at 12a.m. with crazy stomach pains or after he has been up for 2 hours he starts bobbing his head and sort of whigging out...crazy stuff.

I'm signing off...I haven't slept in about 3 days and luke is going to kick my bum if i don't hurry up and get to bed!

My girl

This is SO true to life...I couldn't have explained it better myself!

Ps. Livi wants the world to know that she does NOT have a crush on him..she was just teaching him how to dance! ;)
