My boys

Last week, Spencer had his first cavity filled.  Here are a few picture of the after effects-you can see that his smile is a bit crooked.

Mac has found a few interesting places to fall asleep:

One of my current reads.  Apparently Mac thought he would share a few of his stickers with Mitt!

Spring Break 2012

I wanted this spring break to be…special.  I wasn’t exactly sure how that was going to be accomplished, since any school days off, is a special day for me (sleeping-in wise) Smile
But a few weeks before break Livi and I had a conversation about home schooling.  It was something that she felt we needed to try out.  So, I started planning small, little things for each day.
One day, we did a few worksheets, the next few days we learned about Australia.  We made some Anzac Biscuits (cookies) and then on Wednesday we went to the zoo and learned about the animals.  With all honesty, it was fun.  (A little difficult with Mac….)
Luke and I had also wanted to do something special for the kids…so we planned a little get-away.  We decided to bring the smaller camera and I am kicking myself for that..the pictures aren’t very good, but we had a FABULOUS time!

It was GREAT! We had such a great time together and Castaway Bay was the perfect place to let them unwind and explore. We loved the hot tub (that went outside), the wave pool AND the raft ride. Such a great time together!

The microwave dilemma

Most times I post on here, it starts with something along the lines of, "Not much has been going on..."
Well, this time I have something to post about!  Exciting, I know.  Nothing too big, but between a ton of birthday parties and the start of spring break...
Anyway, last weekend, we had NO obligations, nothing but family time. So, I mentioned to Luke that I would like our new microwave to go in. It had been sitting in a box, in our dining room, for over a month. (Time to get a move on).
Let’s start in chronological order:
Getting prepared:

Checking out the merchandise:

Start easy:

Lots and lots of screws and bolts:

I’m just going to lift it up and it will come out….

But obviously, nothing is that easy:

So let’s take a break and DANCE!!

And start again:

Well, might as well take out the light bulbs (they were expensive! Smile)

And dance a little more:

After about 45 minutes, send the wife to the computer to look up HOW to dismantle and take down the 1984 mw:  *Please note, we weren’t the only ones frustrated by this venture!!**

Using some major muscles to get that stinkin’ thing DOWN:IMG_4206
And yes, I was involved the ENTIRE time, just didn’t want the picture taken Smile

After we got the case out, he’s what we had..brick.

We thought…and thought…

And took the plunge:

No going back NOW!

Here is Luke switching and doing some electrical stuff.  (He installed a 3 prong outlet for the fridge)

This is what our kitchen currently looks like...
Disclaimer:  Nothing is as easy as it looks.  That is COMPLETELY what happened here…we were ONLY changing out the microwave.  And now..a complete kitchen remodel…wonderful!  Smile
