Tackle it Tuesday: Baby Bulge

21 1/2 weeks

This week my goal was to get over my pregnant self-image. Luke took the picture and I'm glad. I don't have many pregnancy pictures because I get pretty big, pretty fast. Although, this time around, I feel smaller than I did with Spencer (I AM measuring ahead 2 weeks, but I also have to factor in the extra fat deposits from previous babies).

My body is built very interestingly. I have NO torso..from where my rib cage ends to where my hips begin..no room. None. Therefore, I jut out front..a lot. Bellies that allow babies to lay sideways? Not in my belly. They are all out front.

Every Sunday when I go to church a friend exclaims, "Katie, you are HUGE!" It doesn't really bother me because honestly, I don't have any place for the baby to go...so yes, I am huge. What did bother me? Someone asked me if I had two months left to go...uhh, no..make that 4 months!

Now that I have posted a picture I'm not scared to take more or even post them..bring on the flash!

I am the same. I always got huge fast. But you don't look like you only have 2 months to go. You are not that huge by any means. That is what I looked like at like 8 weeks pregnant. Great tackle. Come check mine out.

I think you look GREAT! I am so glad you posted a picture of your cute self. I know I'm not the one at church telling you that you look big! Didn't I tell you how SMALL you look not too long ago? Self-image - good thing to "tackle"!

Someone had the nerve to ask me when I was prego with taft if i was having twins. yes i was fat...but taft was 9lbs 4oz what do you expect? i have very healthy kids! I dont know why but i also got big fast and it bugged me the whole time i was prego. maybe ill be nicer and have a better outlook like you the next time around. oh and Taft was due june 4 and came on the 5th. Good luck!

Hey is it just me or have you still not posted your u/s? And PS you look great! Every pregnant women (or most of us anyway) struggle with the pregnant self-image that doesn't go away until after the baby weight is gone because it's just not YOU, you know? You look great!

I do know how you feel about that pregnant self-image one has. Sometimes it's really hard to get over and hard to accept. But, you look great! No need to feel self conscience! I'm jetting out pretty good this time around. I feel huge, compared to my other two. Oh well! We're pregnant! What do we expect, right? Do you know what you're having yet???

You look cute and small!!! I know I am 10 weeks ahead of you but I am seriously falling over. People keep excepting me to go any day know, wish I was. They seem stunned when I say I have two month left. Even the doctor told me I was bigger, he tired to tell me in a nice way, but basically he said I looked bigger then 30 weeks. Anyway, you look good. Glad you took a photo!

ah it finally worked! I was trying to leave a comment earlier but it wouldn't let me...

First of all, you look great! You don't look like you have "2 months left to go" like that person thought! You look like you have 4 months to go! You look great!

You rock that cute pregnant bod :)

Steph...you are right, I haven't posted the u/s pictures yet..I have to scan them in!! Don't fret they are coming!! Also, thanks to everyone for making me feel better! Plus, 4 months will go by fast and then I'll have something to REALLY worry about..extra body weight, but a baby is WELL worth it! ;)

I think that picture is great, honestly. I totally believe pregnant women look wonderful, extra body weight and all! You'll have a beautiful baby to show for it in the end. I know from my own experience that babies can drastically change your body, but after it's over it's not impossible to transform it back to what it used to be, right? Okay, who am I kidding? It's never the same.... :) I guess it's possible, it just takes a lot of willpower, which is something I lack apparently.

You look super cute! You are not at all that big! But I do know what you mean about getting big and fast. I am bigger than some of the girls in our ward that are a month or two ahead of me! I swear...I am in maternity clothes the day I get pregnant :) But it's all worth it.

YOu are so funny! You look great, Katie! Isn't it funny how we all carry differently and every baby carries differently too!

Look at you...you have a whole page of new posts I've never seen! It looks like you have a lot of fun with the kids...I need to do a better job of taking pictures of our adventures together!

You crack me up! I'm so glad you posted that picture. I'm proud of you. It takes guts to do that....trust me, I know. But you're gorgeous. And I love that pregy belly. I wish I was there to talk to the baby.

OK you have 500 comments, and I meant to write this a while ago--sorry its late. But I have to say that I totally know how you feel. If only you could have seen me pregnant, and I was ALWAYS pregnant at the same time as some tall, thin little basketball pregnant lady. I used to measure my pregnancies by how many Sundays I had left. Church was horrible. Between people putting their hands on my belly and comments about how the preggo lady RIGHT NEXT TO ME was "the cutest pregnant person in the ward" to uncomfortable pews (my feet don't touch the floor--not good on the back!) Sundays were not my favorite days. I am just proud of you for surviving your first few weeks-you are amazing. And you have really cute maternity clothes. You are welcome for the novel-sized comment.
