Anyway, this past weekend was spent mostly away from home. Luke and I decided that we needed to do a "daddy-son" day and "mommy-daughter" day...so we went out to lunch and then split up.
Originally Livi and I were supposed to get a pedicure, but they didn't have any openings and I wasn't willing to wait for one OR spend a ton of money. So, instead we went shopping for Easter shoes, clothes for Spencer (for his bday), and some card-making things for me. It was nice to be out and spend some of my birthday money from my in-laws (THANK YOU!) and even though Luke didn't know it at the time, he now has gotten me my birthday AND mother's day gift this year! :)
The boys went to a gun shop and after about 2 minutes, Luke realized that wasn't exactly the best choice for an almost 3 year old. Not that Spencer didn't LOVE it, (he did!), but he isn't allowed to TOUCH the guns (of course) and was feeling sad. Being the good dad that he is, Luke thought that if his son wasn't having a good time, he better change plans and so they went to a pet shop and spencer got to see tons of different animals. He was in heaven!
Later that night we painted balsa wood easter eggs (from Michael's) and then dyed and painted hard-boiled eggs. It was such a fun time as a family. The kids were in HEAVEN!
We put them down and turned on Twilight. It wasn't too shabby...obviously the books were better, but we both enjoyed it AND you can't beat Redbox, right!?

Hey! Well, just so you know, I JUST put up that post last night. I wrote it out on Sat, but never got around to posting. Anyways, I think your mommy/daughter day sounds great! Sam and I need to do that more often. I hope your Easter was nice. The pictures of your kids are realy cute! You look like you have a lot of fun! I hope your pregnancy is going well. You're almost done!!!
How fun! The "daddy-son" and "mommy-daughter" date is a good idea. Love the beautiful eggs!
You're hilarious! I always buy myself my gifts and then tell Marcus after the fact. This year I want a nicer, new sewing machine so I told Marcus he doesn't have to worry about our anniversary, my birthday, Mother's Day or Christmas. Isn't he a lucky guy?!
Your eggs turned out way better than ours!
Glad you got to have some mommy-daughter time. Sorry the pedi thing didn't work out. I've never gotten one, although I hear they are wonderful.
I've also never seen or read Twilight. I'm kind of behind on the times!
I LUUUV the eggs. What fun ideas!
Just to let you know, I just made my blogs private. My e-mail is jbo2000@msn.com. Send me an e-mail titled "blog" so I'll catch it amongst all the junk mail. Thanks, I'll send you an invite!
Hi Katie! I'm sad to say but I am having a hard time remember you. I'M SO SORRY! Please forgive me.
Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for the comments! I really appreciate the advice and hearing your experience with it. By the way, with getting your kids into a bedtime routine, how do you manage date night?? That's what Trapper and I are struggling with right now.
