Wow. I have some GREAT FRIENDS and FAMILY!
Yesterday was my "golden" birthday. I turned 28 on the 28th.
When I was younger and then first married, I dreamed about what I would do on my golden birthday. Take a trip, go on a cruise, shopping spree, etc, etc. Now that I am actually older and more mature I am so thankful for what I DID receive.
Last Saturday I asked Luke for a very, VERY small date night. I wanted a movie and a slurpee. Haha, yep that's all I wanted. So, true to form..he did exactly that. It was great!
Then this morning there was a knock on my door...around 10 a.m. And you know what that means..I was still in bed, awake, but not dressed. I yelled to the kids to NOT open the door and threw on some clothes. Haha..I was such a sight for sore eyes.
Anyway, there at my front door were some friends from church: Loni, LeNae, and Jenny. There were there to make me breakfast, a cake, and then ended up cleaning my house. Ahhhh, it was wonderful. What more could you ask for? Piping hot blueberry waffles with homemade syrup (I need the recipe Loni), bacon and then a yellow cake with homemade chocolate frosting (I need that recipe too Jenny!!) for when Luke got home. Then after that...they cleaned my kitchen: put away dishes, loaded the dishwasher, cleaned the counters, swept the floor, cleaned the front room, the kids room..you get the picture.
It was one of those love/hate moments. You know...the ones where you don't really like asking for help, but when it is there you can't do anything but just LOVE it! I am so thankful for these women...you guys are amazing!
Then later on Yvonne showed up...and then Amy....and then I got calls from family and texts from friends.
It was exactly what I would want if I could have it all over again. Really. I am so thankful for wonderful friends AND family...thanks for making my birthday golden!

I actually thought you looked beautiful in your PJ's. Hey, I just want the rest of the bloggisphere to know that Katie is very organized. I was very impressed with what she can get into such small areas. And even Livi knows where things go.
