Spencer's Sick

Yep, it is 1:17 a.m. and I am up because Spencer is sick. He hasn't been sick for 6 months and then out of nowhere, he got a doozy.

He woke up today with a runny nose, but I just thought: cold or allergies. Then tonight, he got a bloody nose and I thought: dry air, etc. We were driving home from our Cinco de Mayo party and he cried the whole way home and you could hear that he was congested. So, right before bed we gave him some allergy medicine because Luke had the same exact symptoms today (bloody nose, running nose, congestion) and we chalked it up to allergies.

Well, he woke up an hour after he went down and we gave him some Tylenol in case his ear hurt. (He had been pulling at it and so we assumed.) Then an hour later he woke up hysterical because he couldn't breathe and you know when you cry, it makes it worse. So a 1/2 hour later and finally calmed down and asleep, Luke and I go to bed.

Exactly one hour later...he wakes up freaking out and crying and this time you could hear his little body having a hard time breathing, it sounded a bit raspy. So, Luke asked if we should take him to the hospital and that's where they are now. I feel so bad for Spencer! It just breaks my heart to see him like that. I also feel bad for Luke, since he is the one out there with him at 1a.m, but at the same time, I didn't really feel comfortable going out alone in the middle of the night. So, thank goodness for husbands! :) I'll keep you updated on our little boy Spence.

Update: looks like an ear infection and some MAJOR allergies. Glad we have him on meds though. He just took a nap (with Luke) and slept pretty well. YAY! BTW, Luke stayed home from work because he was 1.) Exhausted from getting home at 3 a.m. 2) his OWN allergies are HORRIBLE! He looks pretty miserable, poor guy!

I'm sorry Spencer's sick, it's hard when they get like that especially when you don't know what's wrong. I hope he feels better soon!

Oh no! Poor Spencer (and Luke!)...Ear infections are the worst! Parker had one for, like, 3 months, on and off. I was into the pediatrician every month trying different meds. I hope Spencer and Luke's allergies ease up. That's gotta be tough! Take care :)

I'm so sorry. There's nothing worse than a sick baby. Hope he gets feeling better. When he does, we should do something, even if it's just hanging out.
